Just returned from a weeks holiday to find a letter from the Met Police stating that they're prosecuting my wife for speeding (they don't say how fast she was going). The letter states the date, time and that they can suport there action with photographic evidence. The wife doesn't remember any camera's, or being in a paticular hurry, etc. Is there anything we can do, or just fill in the form and wait for it to go to court?
I think when you look at it closer, Its a N.I.P. and It requires you to state the name of the driver under S. 172 R.T.A.
Whilst I am sure you will get many helpful responses
on this site, there is a dedicated site to speeding
offences et. all @ www.pepipoo.com
I found the site very useful when I got a similar letter from the Met in April.

NOIP/172 request sent off to Reg. Keeper (you Mr Dcz or SWMBO?)
If you the RK then, within 28 days, you have to name driver and unless you can come up with a valid reason why you cannot name driver, then you name and then blame shifts to the named. If you don't name then possible court action for failing to name.
Named driver gets the forms and can then acknowledge that she was the driver and return forms in 28 days/or pay 60 and collect three points by paying at named place on forms. Matter over.
If doesn't admit then it can go into Court action for speed/and or/S172 fail to name.
Seems from your post she was on the road at the time driving so its up to her. Does she want the hassle?
