I bought a 996 3.4 last week and it seemed fine at first..... the problems started when I pushed her a bit harder (4,500 RPM+) I'm not all that with a spaner but have a feeling the VVT isn't working correctly. Has anyone come across this before?
1. At about 5,200 rpm it seems to drop in power a little bit (only just enough to notice) until about 5,800.
2. doesn't seem to have much of a progresive power curve.
3. seems a lot slower than my 993 was.
Any thoughts ?

perception is one thing,, i would get the thing on a rolling road to see what the real figures are for torque & bhp also where they are produced and what part of the rpm curve you have a problem.

when I said power drops a little I should have been clearer. I feels like i've come off the gas a little, enough so that passangers will notice.
I have it booked in next monday, just wondered if anyone had come across this before.
