Hi peeps...Been trying to sort out the shudder from the front end which happens under heavy braking..Had the upper ball joints replaced today as they were knackered and then it was noticed there was a bit of play in the top steering column uj,Im sure i bought a TR7 uj previously but it was wrong although im not sure..Can anyone advise...My column is a TR7 i believe...If this dont cure the shudder then its new brake discs...Cheers...Ziga

Early wedges are TR7 column as far as I know, but I beleive it's a LEFT HAND DRIVE version for some reason (so that the ign key comes out on the offside)
Can't see why this makes a difference to column bearings, but just in case....

EEEK!!! indeed. 70 squids for a column bearing ? Wow....

If you're into visiting scrappers, I reckon there's a few BL columns that were all very similar, if you can still find any, so may be worth a look....

I think its a matter of lack of supply to demand that pushes the prices up...Apparently there are several different types..I have tried the TR7 type and had to send it back..I spoke to a reputable TVR dealer today and he has assured me that he will have what i need but i need to measure the length of the knuckle and the diameter of the column both ends..Mmmm..How much do i charge for that info...If only...Ziga
