I am becoming a bit of a serial car collector(hoarder)and starting to feel the need for a new purchase,of course what any normal person would do is sell one of your cars and make available funds and room for said purchase, not me!
I just cant bring myself to sell any of my cars or bikes, they all offer something different and they all reward in their own ways, even though some of them let me down occasionally,no names mentioned,im sure you could guess anyhow,i had better list what i have got and what im after, here goes.

Not in any particular order,

Lancia delta integrale Evo 2

Alfa Romeo 105 series gtv 2000

Porsche 996 mk2 GT3

Ducati 999S

suzuki DRZ400

Thats it at the moment, but am being very strongly drawn to either a BMW M 635 CSI OR Renault Alpine GTA V6..?

What do the PH community think,am i mad or is it normal to lust after more precious metal??

Or precious plastic in the case of the Renault!

I will take the Alfa off your hands if you need to make space for a new addition.

To be honest if you have the room and the money, why not? I would expand my collection too if I had the space. In fact I went to look at an Alfa Berlina today on the offchance it was worth a purchase

Go for it, but let us know what you get.... with pics! Out of the two you are thinking of, I would go for the Renault. Quirky, rare and worth it just for the wacky interior.

I can confirm you ARE slightly mad but nothing wrong with a car nut so i think

you should buy the Renault Alpine,no expert on that or BMW but i suspect one

of those is rarer and also cheaper than a M635 CSi.smile

Know this feeling....I just bought a Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans and am now considering a Venturi both of which I hankered after as a kid....know the Venturi will dissapoint me, but sometimes you have to learn the hard way.....I think I would go the Alpine GTA route, then we could meet up and both cry in our beer tongue out

What's the spares situation like for the Alpine? It's a bit of a strange choice, personally I'd go for a very good E24 but a 635CSi man rather than the M.

I like land rovers, like moto guzzi's,did jpa buy the Alfa ?
I know the M635 is a lot more than a standard 635 but you do get the 286 bhp engine and I can't help feeling I would feel short changed performance wise?? If anyone knows different please let me know..
The alpine is a bit left field but I have always liked them, from a lad..
I think a lot of my car choices harp back to when I was a mere boy,at this rate I will end up with a black and gold JPS liveried formula 1 car !!
Keep the comments coming and any new car ideas you might think I would go for ? Budget 8k ish

No, did not get the Alfa. Someones idea of 'solid and rot free' and 'only surface rust' is my idea of 'rust infested heap that needs EVERY panel, chassis member replacing or repairing that is only held together by glass and rubber!'

Mind you, he claimed to have a spare 2 litre Alfa nord that was semi race spec as well as other alfa bits if anyone is interested?

PH must be listening to your post though, look what has appeared on the home page :-

TVR S series.

Ridiculously cheap and quite grin-inducing. And you dont have a ragtop yet

Perfectly normal. I'm in a similar boat. I bought a Ford Model A Phaeton earlier htis year and I've just ordered some Pork. Can't stop myself.

How about a proper vintage car (as against classic)? I've gone for a different driving experience with each car.

I agree with the idea of big and luxurious - Bentley Turbo R or early Arnage would be my choice

KITT would compliment your collection but you need a car to complement it. Nit picking fecker that I am!

What about a pre-Stevens Lotus Esprit or a 60s muscle car?

I bet you do JimmyJam,but they look great on my Gtv,are they quite rare ??
Because I have not seen them on many other Italian cars ?

Enjoying the new car ideas, particularly a rag top TVR !! Im a sucker for an unreliable machine..not so keen on big and wafty barges, they just don't float my boat ;-)
