Sportshift v. manual AMV8 roadster
Discussion
I have previosuly owned a manual AMV8 coupe, which I really enjoyed and am intending to buy a roadster. Wondering which shift option to go for. I'm sure this will have been covered before but the search function isn't working.
I currently have a range of cars, with a variety of different shifts:
XKR - full auto which suits the car
F355 GTS - F1 flappy paddle automated manual, slower than the modern systems but I quite enjoy it
TVR - manual
XC90 - full auto
I am a keen driver and a tarmac rally driver (in a manual BMW M3 which I am considering changing to high speed sequential paddleshift)
I haven't tried a sportshift yet, what are your views? Is anyone able to say how it compares to a F355 F1? Thanks.

I've had both versions and updates to both versions.
ASM1 needs regular clutch learns, creep mode and the high reverse gear is a PITA. Other than that I liked it as I always used it in manual with a slight lift at each change.
ASM2 is MUCH better, no creep mode, "normal" reverse gear, no clutch learns, much smoother changes in auto & on throttle, I still only use it in manual though

Thanks, when did ASM2 appear? Did it appear on roadsters and coupes at the same time? ASM1 needs regular clutch learns, creep mode and the high reverse gear is a PITA. Other than that I liked it as I always used it in manual with a slight lift at each change.
