Have a kitcar with a 2.0 zetec from a 2001 focus, it's standard apart from running a 4-1 exhaust and bogg brothers R1 bike carbs, all run from a megajolt ecu.

I would like to get more power from it, what would be a good way to get this?

It's used on road and had it's first track day at knockhill today. It's used more for road than track though.

I ran similar in my Westfield with a black top zetec with throttle bodies and an emerald. At emeralds we got 182 bhp, without any further mods. If I wanted anymore then it was going to get expensive with a ported head and cams. I did toy with the idea of supercharging it............ but then I had kids and the whole thing got shelved, sadly. I also considered fitting the ST170 engine with the variable timing , which may have given more midrange.

I was once told zetecs are only good for 200bhp, after that it becomes expensive.
However only few things I can think of that you could do is, lighter flywheel, jenvey throttle bodies, cams and decent air intake.

Zetecs will run over 200 bhp OK to a point, the duratec usually have rod and piston problems above 200 bhp.People usually fit the ST170 rods in there as a precaution.

duratecs are claiming 300bhp plus by some tuners and are very popular at the mo, zetecs around 200bhp but a good cheap source of power.
