Oh God, Ali - I can't imagine how you must feel.

Such a characterful cat as well.

Think of the good times.

Little warm hugs xx

Read it on FB.

Nothing much to say at this early stage but I know how it feels and the corner will turn.

I wish I knew the right words to say to help with the huge rollercoaster of emotions, but I don't, all I can say is take one day at a time, it does get easier, you know that, you've been here before. It was a privilige to know Bast, she was a beautiful cat with an amazing personality. Huge hugs x x x

No, Ali I have no idea what to say. Is Pepi ok? This is so unfair. All I could think of is not again frown. What happened? (silly question I'm sure)

What I do know is she had a fantastic life with you, she was lucky to have owned you but I know it'll take time before you'll be able to think that.

Take care Ali

Sorry, it was a car

I'd told her to stay by the house which she usually does when it's tea time, I've been keeping her in when Pepi's been late but as we'd been away for the weekend thought I'd be nice & let her play a bit more

I'd been out looking for her 2 hours before & we both thought we heard her but it was so faint we thought we were mistaken. James is trying to tell me it wasn't her but we both know it was deep down.

She was cold when I found her. On the verge higher up the road than I'd looked earlier because she always crossed the road by the only streetlight...

It's my fault, I should have given her her tea & shut her in as normal weeping

I don't think it's your fault ali. I know I'm new to cats. But it seems they never fail to find new and inventive ways to get in trouble. And we can never watch them 100% of the time.

Ali please please don't go down the if only's. Hans on heart I can tell you even if it was her you heard you could not have saved her. She would have made it home if she was going to make it. If it was her she heard you and she'd have known you were there which would've been a comfort to her. She likely passed away just minutes later. (I'm not making this up, I promise)

But most importantly we can't predict the future. You did not let her out that night thinking she may not come back, you let her out for her enjoyment, please try and think about that instead. We make decisions every day for our furry friends and for all of us it is with the the best of intentions for them xx

She had a good life, think of all the surroundings she had to play in, letting her out would have made her life so much richer, so don't blame yourself for it frown

Oh Ali.

I can't imagine what it'd be like to lose Neko after losing her brother to a car 2 years ago.

My thoughts are with you

Ali frown Just seen this frown

No "if onlys"... like Bex said, every day we make small decisions, this one was no different.

I'm so, so sorry for you... hold on to the happier memories. There's little tiny Bast pawprints on your heart that won't ever fade. xxx
