im interested in the polo r line its based on the 1.2 tsi 105ps as far as i know its just a body kit and better seats no changes to suspension or anything.

it looks nice with the r line kit on it but i dont know if id just be better off going with a match or sel as all it will be used for is commuting 70miles a day to work.

any ideas ?

What's the difference in price over the standard version?

The tag line on the VW uk website says "Packed with dynamic styling inside and out".

That engine doesn't appear to be available with any of the other versions available... you're right though, it does look good.

i know its only a cooking model but the 1.2 tsi seems to be quite fun.

it only weighs about 1088 so should be not too bad to drive. we were looking at an UP! but tbh with options on it, its almost 13k

options whack the price of the polo up a lot as well

5dr
met paint
climate
con pack
arm rest
side airbags
mats £75!!
sensor cruise pack

adds 2k to it

i would hunt around and try and find loaded dealer demo/stock car you can negotiate on, we got 21% of our polo (unregged stock car)

have they dropped the 2.0 R version then?

For that price you could have Ibiza fr so the styling and more performance, basically the same car, also you may even get a Ibiza bocanegra (spelling) or cupra if you haggle hard enough.

The 1.2 TSI is definately the best engine, HOWEVER in the UK VW restrict to the SEL/R-Line models models only.

I would try and look for a demo/un-registered SEL or R-line or would you like to try and Audi A1 1.4 TFSI Sport 3d for £15,000 from drivethedeal?

I think the a1 looks really good, personally I would buy a year old and save 5k, spending that sort of money on a small hatch would make me go funny when trade in time comes

it would be kept for 3-4 years so depreciation isnt much of an issue as it should be paid for by car allowance as well

Well, the r line would be the equivalent s line on the audi. The A1 looks a lot better than the polo

I have paid extra for se l in the past, found it the interior a lot better suited than se or s.

I know this is nothing to do with your initial question, but if you're commuting 70 miles each way, every day, I can't think of a worse type of car to do it in than a small city car!

It will be extremely uncomfortable, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's not particularly economical sat at 80mph.

My sister has (the older shape) Polo and she hated it for the year she regularly did long motorway journeys every weekend.

I had a Golf for a while commuting 50 miles each way, and even that was borderline uncomfortable.

Sorry to take it off topic!

Then why are you worried about the depreciation on an Ibiza? confused

because id still like something out of it at the end wink

im imagining the r line maybe fairly rare in a few years as lets face it polo's are usually bought by older people and those that want a fast one will buy the gti

if you are using it as a tool, any couple of years old rep special, (thinking mondeo, insignia) for not a lot of money, 1.6 or 2.0 diesel. They would be MUCH better on the motorway and probably as economical.

if you are wanting it to say something about you and it has to be new(ish) then that is all you flash you are going to get for £15k.

How about a volvo C30 DRIVe? they are nice looking things and otr starts @ £15k before discount

it can only be up to 4 years old for me to get any money from the company. insignia is out i will never have another vauxhall or another french car.

i had looked at the c30 when we bought our other car (giulietta) and did like the look of it so may need to have a test in one and see how i get on.

my journey isnt on motorways its all A road small bit of d/c on the a64 thats it
