Getting wet carpets when is dry outside..
Discussion
Hi all
Had a passenger in the car the other day that said their feet were being dripped on, I had a look and it appears that there is water, Not antifreeze coming from the heater matrix. I have not pinpointed where it is coming from but it is pooling on the bottom of the box and then dripping onto the panel underneath/ fusebox etc. Has anyone else had this problem before? Obviously i can rule out leaks from the outside as everytime it has been bone dry outside.
I didnt think the heater matrix held any water, only coolant?
I also think the A/C drain on top of the tunnel is blocked as there is water there as well.

I guess if you are sure its water only, then its most likely condensation from the A/C system, especially as you indicate that the drain vent/pipe may be blocked or somehow your window washer water (assuming its only water and not a mix) is getting in to the cabin some how (which is unlikely).
Its easy to remove the panels and look above the fuse/relays, there are two solid pipes that have rubber/silicone hoses attached which run in from the tunnel, on my car the jubilees holding the hoses on were knackered and the hose was dripping, so check that first. (its a nightmare swapping them for silicone)
Could also be the AC drain but my AC never worked so never came across that problem.

Yes the A/C was on i think, or had been on. Its on almost all the time at the moment as it gets so hot in there!
Just had it refilled and when tested at the end went down to 2.4c on recirc
The pipes going into the heatermatrix are cold, but the bottom of the box has drips forming on it. Condensation sounds most likely but there must be alot of it!

Right, an update on this!
So my carpets are still getting wet, however i have mats over the carpet and these are NOT getting wet. Its only the footwell carpets on both sides.
Im still getting the water coming at your feet when the A/C is on which i believe is the cause of wet carpets. I looked at the heater matrix. These cracks can't be normal? They go around the bottom of the box, and round the other side and also up the side of the box. how would it have cracked? Is it a case of replacing, if so where do i get a new one?
