Road rash really hurts but not as much as my wallet :-(

Had a major off last night on my MTB.
Never gone down so hard on a road section before, front wheel washed out round a slippy DH bend on a surfaced country track. It was under trees so I should have guessed it would be slippy, duh!
Went down on the left hitting shoulder, hip/arse, hands, shins; I slid for about 15ft and caught air when my body hit the speed bump I was aiming for the cut-out bit!
totally ripped the arse out of my fave £80 Alpinestars shorts, snapped the left SBS fastener off my brand new £100 NW shoes. Front wheel is now buckled, plus the new Sigma speedo pinged off into the trees never to be seen again!
My body will recover, but my wallet is permanently damaged lol

It's not looking so bad now;
Wheel - front wheel might be able to be re-trued,
Shoe - re-glued buckle, looks like a good repair £90 saved!
maybe if I write to Alpinestars with my story (and flesh wound pics!) they may take pity on me and give a discount on my next pair of shorts?
