Hi all,

Joined up here recently after reading the website for a long time and thought I'd stick a thread up, although, I suppose for most this wont be to your taste.

Spec:
-2001 Mk5 Fiesta Zetec-S
-Later ph2 (Blacktop) engine
-Full 3" Milltek stainless Cat back exhaust
-Decat
-K&N Panel filter in standard airbox
-AP Coilovers
-Polybushed rear axle
-De tango'd front lights

And the pictures.

The keen eye'd amongst you will probably notice the car is only ever photographed on 1 side. That's because the other arch was rusty, it's currently in primer after I've removed rust and filled with some fibre glass and filler. I'll get round to finishing it 1 day.

I really like these OP. Great fun!

Ref the wheelarch, filler is not the way to go. You really.need to.cut the arch out and putnew metal in there. Otherwise you will be forever chasing the rust frown

Cheers

Yeah I know I really need to cut it out and replace but this is just a temporary fix for now smile

Not keeping it too much longer as I want a 106 GTi.

I will be honest when I sell it. It'll probably get sold very cheap too.

Blowing exhaust at the minute so not that good lol. I've got the gasket but I've leant my jack to a friend but I can't remember which one and no one is owning up.

It's also surprisingly quiet as the back box is MASSIVE on these systems. There are no other silencers so it's straight through from the manifold till the backbox.

Ah, I'm familiar with rusting Fiestas of this vintage, a shame that something that is not really an old car tends to rust so badly.

Yeh, just a shame about the pov spec winter wheels it had. I really miss it actually... more than I thought I would. Think I'll try an E46 M3 next.. just need to save some money first! Should have enough this time next year if I can stick with the valver.

I didn't know you were considering a 106 GTI next! Do you know Pete had one? It was really good actually! He brought it to an RTOC track day, and it did really well... showed a lot of Renault 5s up when it had standard suspension and Falken tyres!

I love E46's and they are an absolute bargain for the money. I will own one some day.

And yeah 106 would be the natural next step as I can't afford to insure a 172/182 yet. I'll have to speak to Pete about his then smile it'd be getting Bilstein B8 shocks, some form of spring upgrade and a brake upgrade. Oh and obviously a pugsport exhaust.

I was considering a derv next but I'd get bored pretty quick.

Do love the MK5 ZS, my best friend had 2, you may know him off of ZSOC, Rennie, died a couple months ago.

Brilliant fun to drive and very solid motors. Full Miltek sounds brilliant (when not blowing!)

Yeah I knew Will through ZSOC, really sorry for your loss pal, everyone was gutted. My friend Matty was part of the convoy that day.

Like you said though, they are great cars...when they work.
