Hi all,

Don't wish to start a war of words as used to happen with this topic wink

What are the choices of spring & damper set ups at the moment? Nitron used to be the choice of many, however, are there any comparable units these days?

Budget is the deciding factor afaik. The more you spend the better the solution.

A quick search has revealed that Racetech are selling Nitrons at £955 + VAT, which I would happily pay, just wondering if there is anything to compare for that sort of money!

I bought a set of nitrons with the eibach spring upgrade last autumn, £995+vat Tvrpower. Had them fitted at TGA (wolverhampton) along with all new rubber bushes and full geo setup. I was instantly more than pleased with the result. Last weekend i had the chance to try a damp evo triangle without too much traffic and the car performed better than i could have asked for.

Give Jason a call at Str8six.
He recommended and fitted Nitrons with Suplex springs to my Cerbera and it's transformed the car totally!
Very reasonable cost too

Very happy with my Nitrons with Eibach springs. Bought from TVR Power for £995 + VAT, fitted by me, geo setup by Nigel at Red Mist Sportscars in Blandford Forum.

I got mine direct from Nitron - they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable regarding the spring rate options on the Cerb. Its well worth giving their sales department a call, I saved a fair few quid by buying direct.

Probably pointless to swim against the tide but I'm having ASTs fitted by Racing Green as we speak. They are supposedly specifically designed for TVRs, and cost about the same as Nitrons. I will be able to comment on them in a week or two but only in comparison to shot Billy's unfortunately and they had better be better than them!

I looked in to them and spoke to them over the phone , Some one was supposed to call me back when they had them in stock , time was getting on so went down the Nitron route never did get that call back hope it goes better for yourself.

AST are afaik another maker who supply after market suspension. I suspect that they supply RG with 'classic' stuff. So I assume they have simply spec'd a shock with the right travel and valving? Is there any more data..?

What a shame it is that if the EU get their way we'll all have to remove our Nitrons/Gaz's/Protechs/etc... and re-fit the Billys frown

It will never happen and if it does take effect I will just take the TVR attitude "I never seen that memo". It worked for them why not us hehe

The EU RoadWorthiness thing will be OK - the worst outcome will be if you modify the car away from original spec then you will need to put it through a new MOT. To be honest thats actually quite sensible I think, it is a bit strange I can change the entire suspension in my garage and then drive it as if nothings changed.

My cerbie is fixed with gaz Golds too, and the handling is really perfect.
But, it was the best when the geometry was done too : the car changed of personnality.
Hope it helps
