Buying a cat d salvage car with no V5

Hi,

Is it just a case of sending off the v62 and £25 to apply for the replacement V5?

I've repaired cat c cars in the past and had the VIC check done and applied for the V5, but never for a cat d car which doesn't require a VIC. is it as simple as above?
