Pulled pork in London

Where is the best place for pulled pork in London? Have tried Bodeans and wasnt the impressed with the pork although I liked some of the other dishes. Where would you recommend?

Try the Pitt Cue Co - not far from Bodeans. Get there early though as it only seats a few, and you'll queue round the block otherwise.

Which Bodeans did you go to? The Soho one is excellent, but I've heard the other one isn't so great...

Soho. I thought it was okay given the perpetual number of Americans attending.

I went to Barbecoa a while back and the pork there was excellent!

Ive been to Soho, Tower Hill and Clapham. I like the rest of the food just think the pulled pork is a bit average.

Americans all renowned for their good taste, of course. Nothing to do with wanting generic crap in large portions to remind them of home.

Harsh. And I never thought the Bodeans portions were that generous...

Me neither yet so many reviews talk of them as such. Maybe if you had a sharing plate for two just for yourself then yes but the normal main meals no.

The £10 pulled pork and ribs combo took up an entire tray - I thought it was pretty generous! I've not been to the others for comparison though.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the Pitt Cue Co. I went there on a Saturday in June. The food was good, I wouldn't say great, but they pack everyone in sardines in a can. We got given a shelf attached to the wall beside the main bar to eat at, after a wait outside, and a longer wait crammed into the bar area (sure no one wants to wait outside, but the squashed as many people in as they could, and your couldn't move). It was hot inside (a cool day too), and very noisy.
Eating was a challenge, with no space to move your elbows, and getting bumped by the drinkers to boot. I wanted to like the place, but I didn't. To put with all that grief I expect it to be bargain priced, but it was far from that too.

I might have to now!

Last meal I had there was the pulled pork and burnt ends combo that was served with fries and coleslaw and this was lunchtime and not a challenge at all.

They also do a £5 takeaway option at lunchtime from the cart downstairs

A little harsh but the expectation that because someone comes from a particular country one should trust their judgement about that country's cuisine is a bit silly, isn't it?

I wouldn't eat many of the things my Chinese friends consider great delicacies for instance!

I take your point. But then again, I've found the best Chinese restaurants are those with menus in Chinese first, English second, and seem to be mostly patronised by people of Chinese origin.... It's not an absolute guide, I grant you.
