Any Basso owners here?

As some of you may read from the 'post crash' thread I'm now on the lookout for a new bike and this cheeky little Italian has caught my eye.



It fits my criteria of being good looking, different from the 'usual' and surprisingly for being 100% made in Italy not too horrific on price, one thing I hope is that the geometry is not a bit too on the racy side for me.

Not a Basso owner, but I'd say that the low price is due to the fact that is a 2012 collection model (hence a product of 2011) that this year was subseeded by the Diamante. Fine if you're not desperately chasing the last model, just keep in mind that the Diamante is the top road model so espect it a bit of a racy bike, but it's carbon and you can adjust it a bit.....

My take is that the Diamante is top of the range whereas the Astra is the midrange, of course mid range still being just shy of £2k!

Also seriously considering a Ti frame with 'classic' styling, rather unsure what path to take as I love both the ultra modern carbon look as well as the classic.

A number of the racing boys ride Basso frames. They certainly look the part, but I think I would have a problem putting cash in Basso's pocket.

Funny you should make the assumption, one of the comments I've seen about the bikes is the continual reference to Ivan!
