I took my Tuscan S to work this morning and had a brief run with an Evo VIII in front of me; blimey those things can't alf shift. Bumpy country lanes with a winglet missing (taken off by a bloody rabbit recently), at high speed really does make a difference to the stability, even so, Evo couldn't shake me off but I was impressed with its performance!

Anyone else come across one of these?

There are about the fastest things point to point.

Most are fettled to around 350ish if they are Evo 8's, with 9's more likely 400.

I previously owned a 7, not as quick as my Tuscan in a straight line, but they give you more confidence on bumpy back roads.

I've got an Evo 8, the cost to go from standard to 380-400 Bhp is cira £800 so quite a few will have been done. They should also be pushing the same torque figures, couple this with the 4wd & electrics makes it very very quick on A & B roads.

I think it would take a very good RWD driver to keep up with an average Evo driver in those circumstances.

Had a play with one of these in a straight line and it was clear that i had the pace, but i certainly wouldnt like to have been playing on twisty's.

And, as mentioned, i can only guess that many will have been tweaked if its that easy.

Hell, i have a friend that has just has his focus RS 'tweaked'. For £4k he now has 380 bhp and ***620nm** of torque. So easily done with modern engines...
