Sausages frozen for over two years?

Found some sausages in the bottom of the freezer, best before June 2010! As they were frozen before the bb would they be safe to eat do you think?

The fat in frozen meat goes rancid after a year or so, so they might taste a bit stale. Depending on seasonings you might not notice anything.

Go ahead and eat I'd say.

Some fast foods chains are still using food frozen in the fifties so it can't be too bad

Well i cooked them in the oven as I couldn't be bothered sitting in front of the hob and I'm still here so i guess they were OK!

They should be fine but if they are frezzer burned the flavour will be affected.

Similar thing here, I have a spatchcock poussin in the back of my freezer that's been there since I moved into my flat...4yrs ago this month. I should chuck it (and my gf constantly threatens to do so when I'm abroad with work), but it's almost part of the furniture now

Nothing will grow if frozen foods as long as they are kept properly frozen, safety wise it's not an issue. Quality might be another matter

When I was in the Navy (left in 2007) we would often get sausage rolls in our packed lunches should we not be able to visit a galley for lunch. More often that not aside from the lazily made sandwiches the extra savoury treat would be in the box for us. A sausage roll with about 3% meat content and 92% cardboard that was wrapped in a plastic wrapper that wasn't airtight (lots of tiny holes) with a best before date 5 years from our date of eating. How on earth can you cold store food open to the cold air for that long? No wonder it tasted like utter crap.
