Hi there,

has anyone tried to fit the "accelerate linkage" for the LS7 recently ? I got a gas pedal which is quite different to the one in the build manual. The threaded bar seems to be too short. Should I drill a new hole into the gas pedal?

Also I'm wondering where to put the LS7-Loom. The pictures in the build manual additions give me the hint to do it in the same way as the Ultima-Loom, however on the right side of the car. Correct?

Hi Ben,

LHD car, so put the loom on the left side.

In the build-manual they put the ecu for the LS7 at the right side in front of the passenger seat, so my guess was that the LS7-loom (not the ultima-loom) fits only on the right side because of the lenght ...

Couple of pictures of my throttle linkage which may help.

Remember to fit a stop behind the pedal and make it so you can bend it to allow adjustment so that you can get throttle wide open when the electrics and engine are operational.

Nice installation you have there smile.

I found a text in the build manual concerning the adjustment of the pedal. The stop delivered by the factory should work, if not bendable I can file it.

As a matter of interest, what is the probem with removing the Factory pedal altogether, shortening the GM pedal arm, and bolting the thing to the front wall as high up as it will go.

Yes I know that the pedal lever would be the opposite to the rest of the pedals (ie up-down rahter then down-up, but I would have thought it would not be noticable in practise?

What are the down-sides to this approach?

I had to shave off some of the lower ball joint to get it to clear the chassis rail and allow full throttle. You may not have the same issue, it is due to slightly different positioning of the hole in the pedal for the linkage when the pedal is manufactured.

My car was constructed before the factory supported the LS7 so the original owner/builder had to construct a number of items from whole cloth. He found that the GM pedal assembly could not fit in to the pedal area and located it to the left (driver side (LHD)) side of the engine compartment, right behind the driver. It is cable operated. THe ECU is on the other (passenger) side with a harness connecting the two. I worried about it at first because it seemed like a bit of a hack, but I like the fact that the pedal location/motion transducer is in an easily accessible area. And like the rest of his build, it seems to work perfectly.

What is the sense of the "return stop screw"? (The manual says: Drill and tap the floor bracket to accept the M6 return stop screw with locking nut.)

To avoid the pedal to hit the floor when removing the feet from the pedal very fast?

My installation works now, so that full throttle and zero throttle (pedal circa 90° to the floor) is possible.
