i live in a really quiet cul de sac on the edge of town, after midnight as I was going bed I heard voices outside, i watched two scrotes eyeing my car up (335i), walking up the road checking up drive ways, back again, and back for a third time. No one apart from residents walk on our road during the day, stood out a mile! Rang the pigs who were out in force in pretty sharp time, dog picked up a scent where they went but even if they were stopped I doubt they'd have anything incriminating on them. Hope they try an get into the house, if the dog leaves any bits (he's a big mofo german shephard) I'll paste the feckers.

Unfortunately they won't need to do that with a 335i. frown

This worries me being a 335i owner....

It rings true we are on a quiet residential road and some tea leaf's stole my dad's silver 318d instead of my silver 335i in December before abandoning it...

well done for noticing though, wish we did!

May recommend disc-locking it or blocking it in in the mean time owing to known OBC port issues

Why bother? If they want it, they'll take it...and the vehicle blocking it in!

The only solution would be to park it somewhere totally different. But then, that's what insurance is for really.

Seriously! have a bit of respect, the Police have to put up with a lot of abuse during their working day, sounds like they where there when you needed them. Not cool using terms like that.IMO.

The extra time and noise this would create would be a pretty big deterrent...they'll likely see one or both of these and move onto somewhere else. Its a lot easier to take a car if you don't have to break into the house first.

M8rky, that was entirely in jest, my old fella was a chief inspector, my bro in was the job before he moved to New zealand and joined there. The lads and lasses did a good search of the area last night.

With that sort of attitude the Police should be able to tell you to go f*** yourself

Ever thought about chaining your car to your house/garage? biggrin
Any cutting equipment will wake you up, as will trying to lurch the car free. No need to beat them up, just have a camera by the front door and take a photo.
Then you can do them on attempted theft as well as property damage. spin

Did you used to write the scripts for 'The Sweeney'?

TBH the way the copper suddenly changed his tone once he found out it was my VXR that was nicked a while ago quickly made me lose all respect for them. Nice as pie when Dad answered the door and thinking it was his, all of sudden seemed to lose all interest when it was mine....
