te cars there! I don't think I'd even want to be seen at that event, judging by the sort of people I'd expect to drive those Max Power style cars, people might associate me with them.I do quite like that Defender though!
Judging by the list of cars going... I would say we'll get a mixture of cars at the Sunday Service so a lot of this stuff!
Car enthusiasm means different things to different people. Some clean them, some lower them, some modify them, some simply own and don't enjoy them. At least we all like cars, just for different reasons

Here here. I wouldn't be seen dead in those cars but you're right yeti. Also, a lot of those guys are either younger or less well off so simply can't sink a 50-100k into their dream car. They make their dreams with what they have. There's a lot more thought and ingenuity there than simply chucking a load of cash at a v8v or db9. Probably a lot more passion too. well lets face it Yeti.......your a bit like those guys only with a posh car......you've almost rebuilt yours, I wouldn't be suprised if you had enough spare bits to build another DB9 Car enthusiasm means different things to different people. They might have put a lot of time and effort into their cars and fair play for that. It doesn't change the image that those cars portray though, and it's not a good one. 
I know the guy who did that vid and organises these meets from my Honda S2000 days

They may drive idiotically some of the time around the city centres, but for me there's no difference between this and some Arabian plated Hyper Car, or an F Car 'Revving Run' doing the same around Knightsbridge. Same mentality, different financial circumstances.

And that's the crux of the matter - they're doing the same as me, but I'm a bit older than them and have, without trying to sound snide, a better paid job, that's the onlt difference. If I was earning a lot less, pretty sure i would be doing exactly that with an S2000 or a Supra. Maybe not lowering the sispesion so it doesn;t function... but horses for courses.Most of those are decent cars, RWD or 4WD and properly fast. This is different to chavved up Saxos in McDonalds car park IMHO

I have no issue with the performance modifications as you say, but visually they certainly look like a chavved up Saxo on McDonalds car park. Mind you I wouldn't partiularily want to be seen in the majority of those cars if they were completely standard. It's just the image they portray imo. Most of those are decent cars, RWD or 4WD and properly fast. This is different to chavved up Saxos in McDonalds car park IMHO

I started out modifying Mk1 Escorts, Capri's and such like, hanging around like these lads talking bks. I am not into mods that don't improve performance particularly, so agreed some of the crap spoilers / stickers or ridiculous wheels are not my thing, but they are cast from a similar mould.
Before Aston ownership I owned an EVO8 that was 550BHP and was an active member of the MLR, going to events and the people there are just as friendly & enthusiastic, just not cut from the same financial cloth as some of the luckier ones on this forum. So are we that much different?
I have not changed fundamentally, got older - yes, fatter - yes, more disposible income - yes, love of cars has not changed, despite financial ruin

Even the guy that turns up in his Mondeo on Sunday is a Petrol Head and will probably gaze at our cars, not with jealousy, but with true desire to be lucky enough one day to own one; Good luck to him. Perhaps this is the motivation that he needs to better himself and work hard to achieve what we all have?
There is a good chance that the enthusiasts in the video are not the kind of scroates that would scratch or damage your car, rather come over and talk about it with genuine pleasure and awe. I may not want to hang around in Car Parks on a Saturday, but enough of us will be at Gaydon next Sunday
