Hello all, although I'm not a regular poster I'm a regular reader of the forums, and I'm always interested in what other people are doing, so I thought I would show off my little project!

It's a 1995 Camaro Z28 Convertible, not actually my car, it's my godfather's, and he's had it for about 15 years, and has only 30k on the clock! Although it does need quite a bit of work, he just doesn't have the time to get it sorted as he works away, so he left it to me! He bought it 2 years old with 4k on and has gradually used it less and less, having only done some 200 miles or so in the last year, less than 5k in the last 5 years, and hasn't been serviced in 2007!

Here's some pictures, to stop you getting bored, of how I picked it up:

After a quick wash (much better!!):

Started getting it polished, front wings, bonnet and bumper, but ran out of time as it was getting dark:

List of things to do:
New roof
Sort roof mechanism
Bits of paintwork
Full interior valet (smells like damp inside)
Boot catch / boot light switch
Passenger door lock won't open
Interior central locking switch
Drivers door bottom seal
General Service (oil, filters, plugs)
Belts
Fluids
Brakes
Air con (possibly needs compressor)

There's probably a few thing's I've forgotten already, but I'll update when I finish my list!

Let me know what you think!

I think every time you get in it you start by taking a flying skid over the bonnet before just popping straight through the window bypassing the door.

Convertible, so you leave both windows and the roof down and hurdle the doors surely?

Well at the moment the roof doesn't quite go down properly, some little ball joint pings off every time, I think part of it is twisted, so the roof is a fairly permanent fixture at the moment. Only twice I've tried to get in the wrong side so far...

Little bit of an update...

Finally got the thing polished up, and it doesn't look too bad!... from a distance. I'm happy with the shine though, miles better!

Before:

After:

Loads of little niggly bits with the paintwork, like a poor previous repair, and the rust around the arches...

Also noticed the two rear light clusters need replacing too...
Seal has gone on one, so letting dirt in:

Other lens is broken:

Update! It's been a little while but the car has been in the body shop for a few weeks now getting the necessary work done. It's almost finished, should be ready to pick up next weekend.

Also the new roof has arrived from the States, so just got to get that booked in now before I get the service work done! Busy times ahead!
