Last minute get away

Would like to get away for the bank holiday weekend to a 'middle of nowhere' pub style place so we can do some walks, but within a easy drive of some nice towns or things to visit when not walking.

Within 2 hours from Oxford preferably, not a massive budget, say £200-£250 for both nights.
