Track Day Insurance Companies
Discussion
Hi,
Got a track day booked tomorrow and the Tivver is off the road so I'll be taking the Smart Roadster - which could be fun....anyway, should sort some track cover out for it and the insurance company don't offer any. Greenlight only offer their track cover to existing clients, I've tried Competition Cars and they were £75 (their policy minimum) which still seems a bit steep.
Any recommendations?
Cheers
Joe

I've used MORIS in the past for trackdays and 'Ring tourist days. It's never going to be cheap to insure a car for track use, and I don't know if they have a minimum.
It usually works out about 1% of cover required as the premium and 10% of covered amount as excess.
Mine was about £150 for £15k of cover, plus a £1500 excess.
