Is anyone else out there struggling to sell their Chimaera? Ive been advertising my car on and off for 8 months. Ive had loads of interest but only 1 viewing? Ive had interest from a couple of German buyers in the last 2 weeks.
Ive dropped the price to what i feel is a steal.
Anyone else in the same boat?

It's because you line in Devon and its been raining there since June (can you tell I've had two hols in the SW this year)

Seriously though I'm looking and not seen your add. Can you PM me the details. Could be your location. I'm seeing a few this weekend and there is good choice within 100 miles. Although it is worth travelling for the right one.

I think your car looks fantastic, but, and this is just a personal thing, i dont like the wheels, far too bling for my liking.

IMHO the major issue is that it is significantly modified which means you have a very restricted market.

I'm sure your car is better in many ways than it would have come fom the factory, but you now have something that will put off many potential owners as it will either need an enthusaist that knows what to do, or a garage with more specialist knowledge and skill than the average TVR specialist to maintain.

Thanks for the replies guys, i understand the wheels are not everyones cup of tea this is is part of the reason for dropping the price. Second hand imolas would only be £300 a set. I would buys some and change them (to appeal to the masses lol) but at the moment im snowed under with work.
Yes its modified - The engine is a stonker very quick no shunting no irratic idling etc.
Thanks again

I would have to go with this opinion in general.
I haven't seen the advert, but I think honestly most buyers outside the 'PH mad for power' fraternity might be a little put off by any talk of modifications. Especially if they have no prior knowledge of the 'issues' you may have resolved.
For my own part, I have never considered many of the issues to be issues myself, simply the car's character, and therefore to be embraced rather than fought.

Most TVR owners I have met don't belong to, or don't regularly use PH. (I was one of them for 12 years myself).
If you look at most adds by TVR dealers, they don't mention modifications or list repairs at all.
"Here is a nice car. It's Black. You should buy it from us." seems more the approach.

All that said, it looks a nice one thumbup and really shouldn't be impossible to 'unload'.

Alot go down this route ,i blame piston heads !

It all starts with the smooth bore elbowlaugh

In the past I've heard buyers say that the more a car is modded / personalised the less saleable it becomes as new customers want to put their own mark on it?

I sold mine last week. Advertised on here 3 people interested and first to see bought it. Was advertised st £9k mainly because the smaller pool of buyers up here and had to make price attractive enough for people to travel.

Have to say the blog I kept certainly helped sell and it was serviced and motd before the sale.

Looking around its not just you, its a bad time to sell lately, I have no idea why.

It has taken me just over a month to sell my MGB, last year they were selling like crazy.

Lets face the facts why cars are not selling, first of all money or lack of it, mortgages, high fuel costs, work security. etc, etc. TVR,s are weekend toys for most of us, which can be an expensive luxury! Priorities in life have now changed for lots of people, even TVR enthusiasts.

If I was about to sell a TVR, I would wait untill next spring if I could.
