Vantage fuel filler flap

Mine has started to stick, takes repeated pressing of the release button before it releases. Anybody else had this issue?

It is going for its 3 year service soon so I will get it fixed under warranty but just wondered if there was a simple fix.

Mine was sticking on occassion.... Bridgemill sorted it when it went for service last week

I think they just oiled the release cable

Common problem.

Spray some WD40 onto the cap release spring (once it's open - the wee black 'button') and press it in/out with your hands a few times. Repeat process.

Do this once every few months and you'll be golden.

Yup common issue and I had mine sorted easily enough by Wilmslow. Just a bit embarrassing at the petrol station and I resorted to using the internal release in the boot a couple of times.

If you are about to do your 3rd year service - therefore your original warranty ends too - get them to check the front thermostat too...and the paintwork around the handles and keyholes....and the wing mirror stands

The rear thermostat should be ok

What's the issue with the thermostat? Mine's coming up for it's 3 year service and I'm making a long list of stuff I want fixing under warranty.

They can stick open, and thus prevent the car from warming up properly, or taking ages to warm up....

It's an easy fix

Brilliant! Thanks. Now opens first time instead of having to keep tapping the release button like a frenetic woodpecker.
