Spirit of Broadside

Hi All,

I was wondering if any of the whiskey drinkers had tried this yet.

I am usually a big fan of young whiskey annd this one had fun written all over it, but can't get my pallet around it. Can anyone get past the extremely bitter aftertaste. I think it must be from the hops as it is distilled Broadside bitter.

The initial nose, taste and mouthfeel are all very good, like a cross between a young malt and brandy, but I just can get the finish out of my mouth for 30 minutes after I finish drinking it.

Anyone else find the same, as I know that I have a strage reaction to some flavours.

I've tried it. Would not buy it. Definitely not worth the money being asked for it.

It seesm all the distilleries are on a race to the bottome, in the context of a compettiton to see who can distill the youngest spirit and then sell it for the highest possible price.

Part of the reason I have been buying whisky to store for the future. By selling young spirit at prices near to aged impressions, they can start to ramp up the price of the aged variety, that and greedy government , along with good old inflation means good whisky will only get more expensive.

I think you are right about the young spirit. I bought it for a punt because I liked the ale, but it was expensive. Actually it cost nearly £30 which is proper money, and it actually tasts worse than my tesco value brandy that I use for cooking (and drinking when cooking )
