Why DIY is a bad idea....

Or, "Why can't I look after things..."
Put my new (to me) Tuscan into the garage for the first time tonight, having been using it daily for the past couple of weeks, thinking I should use the daily hack until the weekend to save a few quid.
Leaving the garage I managed to catch my electric tile cutter (i.e big, heavy, sharp metal object), and knock it off the shelf it was on. Realising the impending danger to my P&J I managed to get my back/backside/leg in the way and stop major damage to the Tuscan roof/door, but it still caught the drivers wing on the way down.
So, I saved a few hundred quid by doing my bathroom myself (hence buying the tile cutter), but now need a new (best) suit and probably the front wing respray as I am pretty sure the marks won't polish out.
Which makes for an expensive bathroom.
Sorry for taking up your time reading that, but it made me feel better...now, any suggestions as to a cost to respray the front wing? The marks are probably barely noticeable, but I know they are there...

Sorry to hear that, sounds like the kind of thing that happens to me. I could tell you an interesting story or two.
I guess its down to how deep the scrathes are and what paint finish you have. However, I'm pretty sure it will be in the range of £250-£400. At that level, not worth claiming on insurance because most policies will have an excess of £150-250 anyway.
Depending on the damage, I remember that Chim450 on here got Chips Away to sort out his paint when someone keyed the car. You could try them for an opinion/no obligation quote before visiting a paint shop.

Cheers Bryan, Ivan.
I've calmed down a little now.
The 3M stuff sounds like a good idea, although I'm afraid the tile cutter might be beyond repair though Ivan - something to do with it being launched the length of my garden and into the back wall.
I should probably point out that I am not normally a violent person, other than where the TVR is concerned!!!
Chips Away could well sort - the scratches aren't deep at all - it is more a scuff than a scratch thankfully.
Hell, look on the bright side - I can't see it from the drivers seat

I have the skiniest garage in the world,
I can just about pour myself out of the
car if I run it right up against the wall
on the passenger side. This I managed until
about two weeks ago when I got so close the
front alloy scraped the wall followed by the
very edge of the wheel arch.Hard to know weather
to back up or keep going.I've been consoling myself
with the fact I need a front bonnet respray for stone
chips so they can do that at the same time.
