I've got 18" rims fitted. They are flaking n peeling and the cost of refurb is more than replacement. So.. thought I might upgrade to 19 inch spoke alloys.(or 20") Anyone. fitted something similar.?

My ride is already low ( gaz suspension) n my pipes bottom out on anything, sparks fly. Well I guess u purists will run for the hills ...

Those the wheels you have got on at the moment?
Sorry but they are awful. Look into getting some spiders maybe?

I'm guessing the roads in Hong Kong must be very smooth! I don't think you'd get far with those wheels on UK roads ..

Derm, we have plenty of flash wheels in hk already tks. Mind you I would have to look far to find the high profile rubber that is common in the UK
.Guys, 18" rims look the biz, makes the car more modern. As for handling, well the Chim was designed in the 80s so enough said. It's always going to fall short of modern cars despite what Gaz may say.
I bought the car with 18" and now think they suit the cars. Thought I'd go one better to 19 " but perhaps stick to 18.
It tram lines like hell already !

So you go out of your way to make it even worse?
'90s rather than '80s BTW.

QED. Do yourself a favour, put a set of wheels on that was meant to go on TVRs in the first place, 17/18" SP12s (now from ACT) would improve the car beyond belief.

Lightweight cars with huge, flashy aftermarket wheels designed to go on big, heavy modern saloons, is the unhappiest combination I can think of. With those heavy Ford bits, the sprung/unsprung weight ratio on these is unfavourable enough as it is.
