As above really, me and the GF changing our lifestyles. Eating salads every day, indefinitely. Need some ideas of nice low calorie / fat salad dressings. No mayo. Any ideas gratefully received smile

Salad? Without dressing? Every day? Indefinitely?

rofl I give it two weeks before one of you kills the other.

You can make some very nice, healthy salads. But not starting like that.

Why do you think I'm asking about dressings?

You also seriously underestimate my ability to treat food like fuel and eat the same thing day in day out. As long as it's got chicken in, I'm generally happy smile

Try making your salads tastier!

A winner for me as a meal in itself is:

1 can chick peas, drained and rinsed
1 can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
3 sticks celery, chopped
6 spring onions, chopped
1 tbs sesame seeds
1 tsp sesame oil
juice of a lemon

All mixed well together, with 'togarashi seasoning' (from the spice section at Waitrose) sprinkled over the top.

Togarashi seasoning is a blend of chilli powder, sesame and ground seaweed. It adds flavour without salt or calories. (To anything.)

EFA: not all 'chicken' IS chicken wink

JOliver has some pretty good dressings, using greek/natural yoghurt, which have fewer calories than those using olive oil, for instance.

If you're only eating chicken salads indefinately then I wouldn't be bothered about the dressings. You need some fat in your diet.

Cider vinegar
Light olive oil
grain mustard
salt
pepper

I frequently have fat free Fromage Frais. Goes well with most things, including tinned fish in tom sauce.

Sometimes simple is fine. Last night I had a salad dressed with only smoked salt, black pepper, chilli flakes and lime juice.

Not really a salad dressing but natural/greek yoghurt mixed with some red pesto goes down well here, especially when covering a couple of nice plump cod fillets. . . which will be on my dinner plate later!

Honey and mustard dressing is fab and TBH you'd need a mug of the stuff for it not to be low calorie - it's relatively calorie dense but you're only using a couple of spoonfuls of it per dish FFS!
