S1 Elise Alarm

Welcome to the club.
Is that the B&C Super 160 as opposed to the Sport 160? If so, then welcome. Just picked up a Super 160 from B&C 3 weeks ago. You will love it!!
If my understanding is correct this is how it works.
The immobilser automatically arms after approx 30 seconds (you will see the indicators flash). To dissarm this (in order to start the engine) you need to use the proddy thing (technical term) as opposed to pressing the key-fob.
To set the alarm from scratch use the big button. to dissarm, press it again. Ech time you do this the indicators will flash. However, to set the alarm if the immobilser has already kicked in after that 30 second period you will need to dissram and rearm the alarm, pressing twice. Make sense?
Finally, if you intend leaving the top down, press the large button followed by the small button - this time a 'beep' will be heard. This, I believe dissables the movement sensor / IR sensor, but will set off the alarm if the voltage drops i.e. opening the door.
That is how I use it - and it hasn't gone off accidently yet, although that could mean it doesn't work at all!!!

The small button cancels out the sensor in the driver compartment.
I leave mine on when the roof's off - then if any cheeky chav puts their mucky fingers inside they get a rude awakening when the car wakes up. Never gone off in wind or accidentally yet...
...gone off plenty of times when your's stupidly has forgotten he's set it and opens the doors or chucks something into the passenger seat tho!

Using the big button on the key fob works for this too - I'm sure there's something in the manual about only using the 'stick' if the fob battery fails.
