Horsham pub meet?
Discussion
O.k. so I think we've established that the driver of the blue chim is not a PHer,but there are a few of us in the Horsham area that are. So how about that meet for a drink and a chat?
I've got a couple of dates in mind, either the evening of Friday 27th August or lunch time of Sunday 29th.
What do you think?
If its Friday, probobly stay fairly local, or if it's the Sunday there's a couple of good pubs towards Petersfield if you fancy a bit of a blat.
Derek.

Hi Mike, this will be the inaugural meet for the 'Horsham region' (very unofficial mid monthly meet & I name 'Uncle Derek' as top dog & organiser
) .
The official TVRCC regional meets are at Goodwood for West Sx and currently Piltdown (Uckfield way) for East Sx. Details of where & when on the TVRCC website www.tvrcc.com (FYI the Surrey region's meet is actually nearer to Horsham than the West Sussex region's, meeting tonight at Ripley, near Guildford)
Looked at your profile mate, nice car
but what's the red thing in the foreground?
Be a man, get a roof
Nick
PS Derek, Friday better for me with Bank Holiday/family etc in mind, but I'll go with the flow

Mike
Hi, everyone,
Looks like we're on then!!!
After consultation with my better half, I think the Sunday will be the better bet (hope thats alright for you Nick).
I will post details of venue and times etc later, but probobly an 11.30 meet somewhere in Horsham for a 12.15 arrival at the pub (bearing in mind it's a bank holiday).
Thanks for the response,
and Mike, 'coarse you can pop along, the more the merrier.

Thanks Derek will hopefully make it along for a quick pint, I wont be in the Tiv though unfortunately, I will be in the Jag. As for location what about the Hornbrook, nice pub and a decent car park? I will look out for a post as to where you will meet and hopefully I will be able to pop along.
Cheers
Mike
Hi,
Beginning to get things sorted now.
Firstly, Mike, yes the Hornbrook is a good pub and would make a great lunch venue, but on the Sunday in question we're gonna have a drive first and head out towards Petersfield, this is of coarse depending on the weather, if it is pi55ing down we may well end up staying in Horsham. If you don't have time for the run please pop along to say hello, which brings me to the next point: The official Horsham TVR club meeting venue. Scoured the town for decent parking that's easily accessible and ended up with The Genesis Business Park in Redkiln Way. I use this during the week on business and know that it's deserted at the weekends. If any one can improve on this, please do so.
I thought an 11.00 meet, and depart at 11.15 should get us to the pub just after midday.
And we get to convoy through the town and under Sun Alliance!!!
I'm also getting in touch with 2 other owners who aren't PHers.
I think that's it for now, my one typing finger is about to drop off.

My two penneth worth.... if its a Sunday morning, and there arent that many of us (still working on permission

)& we get to show our cars off to the non-believers at the same time?
Then we can go left at the lights, round the Park roundabout and back again...we get two goes at the SunAlon Tunnel? Why have one, when you can have two? Greedy b'stard me
Any other suggestions?

Managed to get time today to finalise the pub.
It's the Royal Oak, just south of Midhurst on the Chichester road.
TVR friendly car park.
Good food.
Good beer.
Helpful staff who incidently would like to have an idea of numbers.
So far 3 cars confirmed, could do with a few more.

OK guys, Abi & I are in
Mrs C, yup, they are pretty big, but I've run over them many times in my old Griff & several times in the Cerb without a hitch, just very slowly does it and you 'should' be ok (famous last words?). If you have any concerns we should meet elsewhere.
I take it you're going to be pathfinding Derek?

Hi Derek, - found the thread - cool for Carfax - might not be able to do the whoile run though -(aged parents descending for 'launch').
Carfax's horizontal policemen aren't that bad for my Chim. Why not meet outside the old Town Hall - opposite 'Bar Vin' - non-obstructing, smooth and V.cool for the possible photo opportunity!!! - thoughts? - let me know? - Bigglesworth

How about making it a PH meet, as I'm Tivless atm
And the Hornbrook, good pub
, Shirley you can't be serious. How about the Dragon at Colgate, the Sussex Oak in Warnham, the Star in Rusper or the Black Swan at Pease Pottage
Cheers
Ben

Hi guys and Mrs.C.
A few points to address.
Well done Nick, look forward to seeing you and meeting Abi on Sunday. As for pathfinding, this is a route that I know well, otherwise the current Mrs G would be telling me that I should have taken that sharp left that we've just passed. At the same time as "slow down" and "mind that rabbit".
Hi, Howard, glad you found the thread, be good to see you again on Sunday, hope you can make the run, you could have a swift half and still be home by 1 o'clock!
And I agree with the others on the subject of the Carfax humps, providing your suspension has not been fiddled with Liz , you should be fine.
(I am of coarse referring to the Chim's suspension).
I was thinking of starting a debate on what makes a good pub, but decided against it, as once again I'm beginning to get cramp in my one typing finger.
Maybe just pop along to say hello on Sunday Ben?
