The final breakdown... what a strange few days
Discussion
Hi,
posted a few topics over the weekend pertaining to problems starting my chimaera 1996 400HC i.e. cleaned stepper and replaced connector to fuel pump...
well, i had the AA out twice this evening... same problem still persisting...
Indicators stopped working... AA man changed fuse (bit of corrosion).
Then as he left...the car wouldn't start... another AA man came and by chance knocked the relay to the fuel pump...which caused the fuel pump to cut out.
turns out that the 2 relays under the water pipes in the footwell had corroded. previous leak. all dry now.
changed the relays and voila!!!! everything back on track...
just incase someone is having intermitent fuel pump problems... worth checking the relay for corrosion.
Problem solved on the third attempt!
regards,
N
p.s. - what's all that wiring and electrics stuffed into the passenger footwell about? crazy!

I believe the fuse box is located there. There'll be a thread along soon with someone upside down in the passenger seat. This may not have anything to do with the fuse box, though.
