Right, feeling as though I'm being very needy at the mo but not been able to sort out passenger door and no luck with searches so...

Door won't open with either the door card button or the one on the mirror. Window works fine both with the dash switches and when locking the car. Took off the door card and cleaned up a couple of connectors which were hanging between the card and the inner door panel, i.e. more exposed to the wet. Found a couple of wires in a bundle which had been being rubbed by the window glass and the insulation was stripped so re-made those connections. Put everything back together but no joy.

I am wondering next how you get to whatever it is behind the door latch which actually releases the door.

Any suggestions anyone?

Cheers

Martin

IF the window is dropping when you press either of the door buttons then the solenoid is possibly the problem. If the window is not dropping it is far more likely that you have missed a connector inside the door. There are always about 3 more than you think there can possibly be after you have found them all!!

Further fault finding really depends on whether your window is dropping or not.

No, not dropping. Neither door button has any effect at all. Back to the connectors then?

As the window is not dropping either then its not so likely to be a faulty solenoid.

Back to the connectors inside the door there are several tucked away in there.

There is also a multiway connector on the other end of the door harness just behind the carper in front of the door in the passenger footwell that is worth checking.

Check the wiring from the door buttons with a meter.

Trace/check wiring back to the control box in the boot.

If you can find someone locally to test your door control box on their car then that is worth a try. Do not do it the other way round and test their known good box on your car - there is a slim chance that a fault on your car could blow their box!!!

Wiring diagrams are here if you need them.
