I wonder where Autocar got the figure of 740 lb/ft of torque then?

Although Bentley says it has worked with its German parent company Volkswagen to develop the car’s power plant, performance characteristics are tuned to mirror Bentley’s on-road capabilities.

So it won't have a TDi then?

Doesn't look bad
Anyway if I were to choose between this or a Vanquish, I would take the Bentley.
I prefer to support VW than Ford.

(Sorry Ernest, I'm a great European enthusiast )

And you'd get to pocket about £60k (the new Bentley's supposed to retail at around £100k).

It also looks like a mix between the Jag R coupé and a Rover 75

I think it's great. That snowy press shot even became my wallpaper at work on Tuesday (only for a day); the first road car ever. I, too, can see Rover 75 in there, but the rear looks fabulous with that roofline and those arches.

£100k is not much for that kind of machine and it could steal sales from Aston, Ferrari and Merc quite easily. Those three are big names, granted, but when asked the question: "what do you drive?", "a Bentley" is a top-drawer answer in my book.

Keep it up VW: what with the 4x4 (and cousin Porsche at the top end of Range Roverville), Phaeton, Bentley and the ever-improving Audis, Ford's PAG should be in for a very hard time over the next couple of years.
