Umm anyone know much about these? Need to cool something, not beer, but thought a beer cooler might do the job. I need to cool 300 litres an hour down by approxmatly 10 degrees centigrade. But I need the unit to be quite small ideally less than 40cm cubed.
Just thought one of you lot might work in a bar or restaurent that has one.

All the beer coolers are are copper pipe in freezing /cold water bath. The copper is coiled several times to get the desired temp. I dont think the small under bar ones you are looking for will have the flow rate you need and are not strong enough to bring the temp down by 10c . They usually only bring it down by a few degrees for the ice cold type beers compared to the already cold normal temp beer. The brewrey/supplier generally supply, maintain and own the kit the pubs just use it to dispense the product with. If you no longer sell the product they take it back.

We made a portable beer chiller which involved 30 meters of pipe coiled into an icebox then you pack either normal ice (good for an evening) or dry ice (good for many days) around it.

I'm now the proud owner of a Maxi 110 beer chiller, £40 from EBay. Should do the trick, I had considered your ice box method and a pump.
