Hi
It started of quite promising. About 5 years ago I sold a car via PH and all was well with the world.
Last week I found myself ready to sell my car, and immediately thought of PH. I duly created my ad and paid my £9.99 and my ad went live, for the grand total of one day. Strangely I had recieved another request for payment, and the ad had been taking offline. I called the 0872 number and got a voicemail, so left a message. As a backup I also sent an email about the issue. A few hours later a helpful person replied to me and said the issue was fixed. So I sat back and enjoyed my long weekend thinking of all the people that might be looking at my ad.
On Saturday (barely 24 hours after going live the second time) I went to show someone my ad. I searched and searched. Its not there. I email and call PH again, and again Sunday, again Monday, again Tuesday. I also try calling the 0208 number given for any "urgent" problems - but all that has ever done is either be engaged or ring and ring and ring...
In the ad management portal it still says "pay now", but I am not going to do that in the hope that I can get a refund on the first and that my ad might stay online for more than 24 hours.
You can tell alot about a company by the way it not only handles problems but also their customers during that time. I get the impression something has been going on maybe to get the beta site live. Either way - if there is a problem please communicate with your customers, put a line in the mangement portal about possible issues, or something to at least acknowledge everyone hasnt gone on holiday.
Fairly sure this topic will get deleted - so I have saved a copy to post elsewhere.

I've just had a look and I'm unable to find any ads under your forum e-mail address. If you forward me your confirmation e-mail or just your advert reference number I'll have a look at what's happened.
You can send that to matt.dell at haymarket.com and I'll have a look asap.

Hi,
Matt asked me to take a look. Thus is the add on old site http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4175656.htm
And on the new http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use... searchable by the new tools.
Apologies for your frustrations
Phil

Thanks for getting this sorted - I can confirm all was back to normal with the ad last night. If it helps the static/direct link has always worked, it was the fact it wasnt appearing in the search results that was the problem (ie if I cant find it then nobody else can!).
Seeing as my ad missed all of the bank holiday weekend and most of Tuesday should I be getting an extension to the advert perhaps?

Aside from the links in the thread that are normally against policy?

No harm in asking...Stick around, you never know, you might like the forums...

I usually subscribe to the "if it aint broke dont fix it" mentality Seeing as my ad missed all of the bank holiday weekend and most of Tuesday should I be getting an extension to the advert perhaps?

Thanks again for jumping on this yesterday evening Matt, hopefully something can be improved on the customer support side from my experience!
We are here to help.Regarding why you might delete it, I was thinking maybe something from the "Posting Rules"?

It was resolved pretty promptly in the end when I managed to contact another human though! BTW did you see the PDF I emailed you? Bit odd wasnt it?!Gassing Station | Website Feedback | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

Consider it further bug testing!
