Tried cooking pizza on the BBQ for the first time today.

Results were great. Proper thin and crispy pizza that was not soggy in the middle.

I know I will get hung, drawn and quartered for using a gas BBQ, but the total process including heating the BBQ and making the pizzas only took 20 minutes.

The benefit of the BBQ is that you can get it so much hotter than a domestic oven. So much so that if you leave the pizza stone in with the lid down, the stone shatters, leaving you with a load of uncooked pizza dough and toppings... D'oh!!

Did this when we had no kitchen when the house was getting refurbed - was superb!
