Just purchased a mk5 Golf on a 04 plate and the plastic headlights have quite a bit of grime kind of stuck to them. Was wondering if anybody could advise on best product to use to bring them up clear again, many thanks in advance.

Try some brasso if you have any lying around the house.

If its really cloudy and grimy then wet and dry sand paper is the answer, plenty of youtube tutorials on the subject.

You can machine polish them if you have one or if a friend has one to hand

sometimes you will need to fully wet sand to remove the damaged protection film

very common for cars to have front end paintwork for forecourt sales , not known for the most expensive job either , and some paint techs still wipe over spray off head lights thinking they are glass with thinners and then melt the plastic headlights or just the protective screen.

Even tar and glue removers will with time make headlights go yellow.

never come across an head light that cant be turned around thou.

of course got loads of pics of examples too

Toothpaste and window cleaner seems to be a popular combination for cleaning up plastic headlamp covers, according to clips on YouTube. The toothpaste is a very fine abraisive.
