Why is it that my Mrs nearly falls asleep while doing 50mph in her Focus driving over the Llangynidir road and then says slow down ! while I am doing the same speed in the TVR ??????????
Why is it that we need to change the oil when it changes colour in the TVR petrol engine and dont need to change the oil in my diesel van engine, when its like thin tar( still changed every 5000 miles)?
When passing a Mobile Speed camera do they point the camera thru the the front window and get you or is it only when they point it thru the back doors they get you?
As my 350i is a 1983 chassis number 5 , I have been contemplating a total body rework. Its not that bad but up against some others I have seen it looks a bit dire. So , do I stick with originality or do I go with a restoration. Origanal or Resto?

2. Dunnow
3. The lens of the camera has to have an unbroken line of sight to the car. It can't take pictures through windscreens.
4. Restore it as it left the factory.
Thinking of doing a trackday soon at Pembrey Mark, on the 15th if you fancy a blat...

My preferred option too, within practicality and reason. I always say that if a change or modification is 'in keeping' with the spirit of the cars or is perhaps what TVR themselves would have done if push came to shove, then it's OK. As an example, I fancied cruise control on my 390SE; I could buy a modern electronic system for about £150 or I could spend probably about the same fitting the system that Rover used on the SD1 and Range Rover, which is most likely how TVR would have done it if you'd asked them. So it's in keeping with the period of the car. Then there are better options for brakes now than just the Austin Princess calipers so if funds allow, maybe that's an area worth exploring - and it's in keeping with the spirit of the cars because they're supposed to be 'performance' so could reasonably be expected to stop as well as they go.
I think the risk of changing stuff like seats, wheels etc. is that unless you keep the old ones, when/if you come to sell, you have to find someone who doesn't know or doesn't mind the difference... maybe that's where originality is more important. Seats retrimmed, wheels refinished, both probably less hassle than finding say MX5 seats in good nick and some random Mercedes wheels...

My option to!
If you can afford to do this its the best thing to do!
Its not the cheapest option, but will be the one which will give you the most satsifaction in doing it, and the only one which will give you the best return if you ever have to sell it!
Mind you you will never get back what money you pay out!

On that point Ian, would it be acceptable and in keeping to fit a sprintex to my 350i FHC 2+2?
Just a thought!

Ask yourself this question punk: do I feel luc... oh no wait, not that question.... Just a thought!

Could TVR have fitted such a device when the 350i was in production? If so then I'd have said a supercharged 2+2 would have been a fine addition to the model range - and I bet if you'd waved enough of a wad at PW he'd have topped-up on Benny Hennys and had the lads working overtime for a handful of cold gravel a fortnight to get it done. I mean, it's only a 350SX with a roof and a couple of scatter cushions really, isn't it...
