A good few years ago I bought some Leven wipers for my Chimaera which served me well until they were recently damaged in an incident with a tree...

I now need some replacements and wondered if anyone has tried these and if so, how they compare:

I did use Leven combined wiper blades, better than the TVR factory kit but the washer units came unstuck, super glued them back on but didnt last very long.
Replaced with the Wipex units which are the best available, slimmer washer unit, good spray pattern and the tube can be tucked under and through the wiper arm before being clipped into place.

Thanks for the replies, you've reminded me - I had to superglue my Leven ones too! I'll give Wipex a try Replaced with the Wipex units which are the best available, slimmer washer unit, good spray pattern and the tube can be tucked under and through the wiper arm before being clipped into place.

The Wipex ones sound very interesting and presumably they could be fitted with a straight arm at the n/s thus allowing the wiper to park a little lower? Has anyone done this - and any piccies of these fitted (lower parked or not) as no info in the advert as to what the washers look like when fitted, etc.

I replaced the Leven blades & washers with Wipex at a time when the Leven ones were unavailable. I'm not that convinced by the Wipex ones. Although the washer jets are good, I don't think the blades make good contact with the screen, leave it smeary in the middle and they have a much greater tendency to stick in the upright position. As a result, I find it almost easier to drive without using the wipers in the rain at all,

I've never experienced the problems you describe.notax said:

I've got the Wipex "upgrade blade" ones (as on most modern cars) and they're nice and quiet but I can't seem to get the right hand one to clear the glass completely; it leaves a little triangular patch just in my line of vision which is a bit annoying. I've tried to bend the wiper a few times to fix it but no success yet. They look tidy though, and the wash jet works well.
My previous wipers were the Leven ones (traditional metal sort), and my wash jet nozzles fell off too a couple of times but otherwise they worked perfectly. The blade started to split (after a few years) so I thought I'd try the Wipex ones instead. I guess I'll try bending them a bit more....
