The challenge this is a timed event start to finish car must seat four adults with luggage.
Three 0-60-0 back to back a full 180 degree handbrake turn then full acceleration up to 150mph then emergency stop.

Which car old or new would be the best tool for this job ??

Does that really seat 4 adults with luggage - serious question as never been in one or seen its boot. (am a big fan of them though)

No cost constraint.

I'm thinking that with four adults and a boot full of luggage rwd loss of traction would be drastically reduced to close or nullify the AWD traction advantage.

Oh. Several drag cars tied together, with JATOs and stuff, and F1 brakes with parachutes, all on a road made of rubber (except for the handbrake turn bit). All optimised by McLaren and driven by Jesus.

Seems too easy without a cost constraint.

NIssan GT-R ends the thread from first post really.
Add in that the 4 adults have to start from outside the car and it might open up a bit of competition

Depends how much power you're trying to put down, and the point of this excercise is, lots!

A C63AMG will do 60 in 4.7, 100 in 10.3.

The current GTR will do 0-60 in 2.8, and 100 in 8.5.

You're not going to shave that much off the RWD cars time by putting some luggage in the boot.

Obviously, the C63 isn't the only competitor, it's just one that came to mind, but I think you'd have to go a long way to beat a GTR in a test like this.
The GTR is unlikely to achieve those figures 4 up with what is a relatively small engine and IMHO the bigger the engine, the more torque, the better it would fare?

Well, none of the cars will achieve the manufacturers' claimed 0-60 times with four adults and luggage on board.

The two turbos on the GTR will give a fatter torque curve.

I think it was in some rally regulations, turbocharged engines were categorised as equivalent to a NA engine 1.6 times larger.
