Anyone have any views on how long an M3 engine will last? its been serviced by BMW until 95k then a independent garage until 150k. Last owner done 35-40k a year as a motorway cruiser, its now due a service and needs brakes all round & inspection 2 service. So before I blow 2k on servicing : Is it going to last ?

You're asking us to stare into the tea leaves on this one.

There is no reason to think you should have any drivetrain issues so long as the thing has been properly warmed up before being used properly. I'd be more concerned about suspension components, steering rack, subframe mounts and the like...

I'd definitely have it inspected thoroughly by an independent of good repute before taking the plunge.

Can you not find one with higher miles ..LOL!!

There are M cars out there with 200k plus, as long as its been serviced correctly and on time it wil go to the moon and back.

Look out for potential headgasket issues
