Does anyone know what's been happening at East Mids airport in the last couple of days.

I was near there yesterday and there was a very noisy large jet somewhere. Then the same sounding beast went over (I presume) my house later on.

I'm on the flight path. Don't notice most stuff but this sounded big and beefy. Annoyed I didn't see what it was.

I'm really, really hoping it wasn't because I'll be gutted if I missed seeing it.

Of course, if it was at least I heard it biggrin

Did you see the Typhoons last week? There was a fly past on two separate days. I didn't see the noisy aircraft at 9ish yesterday morning but they spent around an hour doing engine run ups around 3.30ish which got boring. It could well have been one of the big Antonovs (which park up near the DHL terminal under the wind turbines) or a military flight (VC10/something). I get much more chance of seeing them in winter when there are fewer leaves on trees!

Missed the Typhoons frown But did see 3 of them scramble from Wittering earlier in the year - awesome biggrin

Someone else close to East Mids had suggested the Antonov. It was about 9ish when I first heard it.
