My low coolant warning keeps coming up. I have bought some Shell radiator fluid which is blue. The fluid in there already is pink and I gather there are concerns about mixing them. Is that right? Does it need to be drained or can I get some more blue fluid?

DO NOT MIX the coolant. It must be pink in the V8.

Have you actually checked the coolant level is low? Remove the header tank cap when the engine is stone cold and have a look. If there's coolant within an inch or so from the bottom of the cap then the level is fine, you just have an indication fault.

If that's the case then locate the level sensor underneath the tank that has a plug with two cables going into it - chances are the connection between the plug and sensor has degraded and all you need to do is unplug the connector and refit a couple of times. Doing so will clean the contacts and that may cure the indication fault.

If coolant level really is low then get the leak traced and fixed asap. Low coolant levels will jeapordise headgaskets.
