Hi Paul,

might have a use for them "one day" when I get around to sorting the interior of the Taimar. If anyone has a more urgent need no problem, but I'll come and get them rather than they end up down the tip!

and you'd get your roof panel bags delivered for free...wink

Come on Mike, don't you remember the Free Nelson Mandela (because he was an innocent man) from the 80's (I think).
Hence Free Seats, because he is innocent...

Anyway, long time no see I'll have to give you a call and pop round some time.

Don't suppose anyone has got a spare black plastic cover that fits over the hinge mechanism on side of drivers seat? (held in place by single screw)

Mine is broken.

Thanks

Phillpot, sorry to hijack the thread, but how bad are the seats you are replacing?
Looks like I am keeping my S for a little longer, and the lump of wood "cushion" in my collapsed drivers seat is getting uncomfortable, if you are looking to dispose of yours please let me know, and how much you want for them, or swops as I have some spares around the place. I am in Warwickshire so assume reasonably handy. I have also assumed yours are tan/beige ?

This bad.....

Ah, the 70's, long hair, flared trousers and brown Dralon !

They are actually in very good condition (I'd guess quite recently re-furbed) but while they may be correct and authenic they've got to go....every time I look at them I think of a Bedford Duple coach !

Have you had your seat out and had a look underneath? Often its just the support wires rusted away, repairs have been done with rope, chunky cable ties etc. and maybe some old carpet, rubber floor mat or something similar to stop the seat squab sponge cutting into the wire or whatever you replace it with

Mine are a lovely shade of s**t brown, rock hard and stitching splitting, so anything would be an improvement, I have happy memories of trips to the seaside on a duple coach, plus the material finish would be warmer in winter.
So if you are doing away with them . . . . . Yes please.

Just had a look over the weekend, yep, rusty strips of metal hanging down under the seat, but the stitching is split and the "leather" if thats what it was is rock hard, so if the offe is on, let me know how much you want for your old Duple coach seats. No hurry I plan a winter overhaul of the interior.
