So... I'm 6ft5 and extremely well built, have size 12 feet with a WIDE fitting, and to go with it all, have developed a penchant for classic cars.

Problem being, in my usual clobhopper daily shoes, I can rarely get my foot on the pedals without depressing a neighbouring rubber by mistake!

I have one pair of shoes which are like slippers, and are fine... But I need to find some big driving shoes made for big men.

If anyone knows of any, id be most grateful.

I have some OMP race boots - same height and shoe size as you. They worked well in my westy which had a very cramped footwell. OMP clothing is gash though when it comes to manufacturing quality - My boots didn't last long and my gloves split after a couple of session karting. They'll fit you, but if you can find some sparcos or pumas that fit I'd put your money there TBH.

That must be a nightmare! You have my sympathy Sir!

The Jensen is fine, that's an auto - but the pedal box in the Stag is offset hugely to the right, so the clutch pedal is fine, but the brake and throttle are both really tight against the right hand side of the foot well.

Have you chaps tried climbing shoes? As close to barefoot as you can get and becuase you tend to wear a size too small they make your footprint smaller. They're not particularly comfy but for a run out work well.

To avoid the desperate "I'm a racer" look I wear Converse Allstars when driving things with stupidly tiny footwells. They are as close fitting and feelsome as my race boots, but cost less and have less shame attached to them.

Puma Speedcats or similar. Race booties, even on a trackday, are never a good look

Puma Speedcats look good - the Speedcat Leather Classence in Black Coffee I really like...

Might just order a pair off the web - can always return them if they don't work out.

Where is the advantage over barefoot? Can hardly wear climbing shoes to work, so I would still have to change them at the other end.

Plus I don't know where one can get climbing shoes in large sizes.... it is hard enough trying to find a decent pair of dog walking boots or wellies.

FYI

I'm a size 11 in proper English shoes, Barkers etc, Size 12 in Oliver Sweeneys and size 14 in Puma!

hmmm, I wouldn't be confident I could emergency brake hard enough in bare feet, surely adapting the pedals would be a better solution?

I used to drive my AX GT barefoot all the time. Emergency stops are no problem.

I've even done it in my Elise, which is an S1 with no servo.

Well, it saves 'breaking the law'

This.

My Puma Speedcats in the "correct" size are the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever owned.
