door openng and rear number plate questions

Chaps,

2 questions i need help with....

Q1, door solenoid will not open drivers door, however solenoid is working. I need to check wiring loom does any one know where I might obtain one or any ideas of what else i should check.

Q2, i need to change my rear light number plate to conform for MOT, ideas on where i can get one.

The solenoid may sound as though it is working but they get weak with age and can't press the door opener hard enough. My passenger door did it and a new solenoid sorted it.

If you need a translucent plate, then Fancyplates or craigsplates.

If you've been told honeycomb is illegal then it's not as it's not retrospective.

I believe the two wire solenoid from Maplins does the trick.
