Hmmmm... I drove to hull last weekend and was brilliant. Got there, shown off the car and engine and was fine. Drove back home and ok too... Or sl i thought.
I looked under the car.... **sick feeling** and found 4 oil drops.
Nothing serious but puzzled... Its below the front of the engine near the oil filter... Oil filter i hear you say? Nope, that's tight and appears fine...
Oil pressure pipe to block? Small oil near it and run down the engine block but only a small covering...
Then looked at the rocker cover, n/s and there's oil on the inlet manifold next to the rocker, but only on that side, same as before.
I did the tappets a month ago and used new cork gaskets so aren't sure.. All i can think is the rockers got warm, cooled and warped?
Pic as follows...

Anybody any ideas?

The 'spreaders' are normal fitments on the late V6 Cologne engine, (and very common tweek to add to the Essex V6), but the Essex should still have it's own version of heavy duty 5mm thick over size washer that appear to be missing.

A thought here is that the plastic oil pressure pipe should be in that picture (coming across the engine and down to fit onto the block)...

The oil pressure pipe comes off the block and goes under the 'thermostat' water pipe, along the chassis rail then around the back of the engine to the bulk head to the dial.
The only thing i have are the old rocker nuts, big positive cross head small screws.
I have got some m8 washers from work today and fitted them under the locking washer and rocker Allen screw. Will run her again and report what happens.
Cheers so far for the help and advice. :-)

Locking washers? are they spring washers?Personally I'd chuck 'em, by the time the bolt is tight enough to squash them the gasket will be over squashed if that makes any sense!
Did you take covers right off and tap out
any distortion around the bolt holes?Allen key bolts look good but so much easier to over-tighten than the original cross head screws
