Think you might be better off selling yours and buying a 3, 3R or M400 personally!

you need to change engine injectors and turbo's and remap the car

NickyTwohats had a 2.5 that was converted to a 3.0

not too big a job - but probably cheaper to sell and buy one that is already 3.0

best to get one with a 6 speed box and TDS whilst you are at it

Hi Steve , i guess you need a 3 litre engine with all the bits , engine mounts ect , ecu to run engine unless you already have MBE , exhaust will probabaly need refitting , should be a pretty easy upgrade though .

the 3.0 engine is actually an overbored 2.5 ie shares same crank

you may be able to talk to an engine builder about getting yours overbored to 3.0

might be an alternative

Mine and Steve's are over bored a bit, which makes them about a 2.6. This leaves about 2mm of wall left on the collars. I wouldn't take too much of them away.

you can fit new liners - probably 3.0 ones !

i think the aer engine is based on a remanufactured 2.5

thanks for the replies everyone. i have already done so much work to my car i was hoping to keep it. i was thinking i could just change the block as i have had head work done on mine (uprated valve springs) and could re use, also ive upgraded exhaust, intercooler, turbos, TDS, uprated gearbox and clutch,LSD. + plus all the other work ive done to the car.
So is it possible to change the block and re use my head???? And maybe change the inlet to the 3L??
Cheers steve

i am not sure the 2.5 heads will fit - they are a different design

the 3.0 has a tumble port - i think the 2.5 is siamese ports

you may be able to buy a 3.0 mondeo engine

and change the rods over from your 2.5
fit 3.0 pistons ( or use the mondeo ones as Noble did !)
fit uprated valve springs ( makes sense whilst it is apart)

your 2.5 injectors may fit

could be a fairly cheap conversion if you can reuse your 2.5 bits
