When to service?

So as my car was first registered in March, it's annual service has always been carried out in March, although it's normally tucked up for the winter so that normally means April. However come March next year it will be out of warranty, SO....
do I get it serviced in October before it's put 'away' for the winter and get the few things fixed I'm hoping to be covered by warranty,
do I register my 'issues' with the dealer now and get the car to him before the warranty expires,
or get the warranty things looked at now and then service in April as normal?

One of the items is the V12 'mouse' in my clutch

(Dealer is some 4 hours, 250 mile round trip away)

Register the issues with the Dealer, and give them opportunity to fix whilst within the Warranty Period.

Surely this negates any potential areas of contention of the vehicle being out of warranty, making the process more protracted than it need be.

Rich - you need to wake up your car in March next year and get it serviced then. I don't see the point in getting it serviced in October then putting it to bed for 6 months.

So long as warranty issues are picked up at that time they will be registered and should be honoured accordingly - mine were.

If there are any serious warranty issues currently on your car then get them fixed now. The Dealer should collect your car and return it - mine does on a 170 mile round trip. Of course you swallow the petrol and mileage cost but I believe they will put it on a low loader for a small fee.

It should be driven throughout winter!! get it sorted now... I just sent mine in for the 'mouse' clutch!

+1 wise words as always from Jman, you will also have the option to extend the warranty at that time, many dealers will throw the140 check in with the cost of service if you do want to go down that route.

I would get it serviced and warrenty issues sorted in March if I were you.

Where in the UK is 250miles from the nearest dealer?

The dealer I purchased the car from does all the warranty / service work, as a condition of the sale price was free servicing at their dealership, so I can't really take it to a local dealer and just ask for the warranty work to be done, can I?

Yes Rich, you can. They will bite your hand off for the work and will also love the introduction to a potentially new future sale.

This will not impact on the service agreement with the other Dealer
